Ursula Oberst (1965) studied history, anthropology and African languages at the universities of Dijon and Yaoundé before graduating from Mainz University in 1992. After obtaining a degree in information science in 1994 she worked for library and documentation centers and library software enterprises in Austria and Germany. She has worked at the ASC since 2001, initially as a member of the Library, Documentation and Information Centre. She is currently working as Project Officer (with administrative and coordinating responsibilities) for Tracking Development for two days a week. The rest of the week she works on other development and IT projects (extending Connecting-Africa, the web portal for African Studies; developing Global-Connections a web portal to development expertise in the Netherlands and Belgium within the framework of the Development Policy Review Network, DPRN).
